Republican Primary

Mitt Romney

The Republican Primary is when a vote is taken by the party to nominate someone who they see as fitting to be a presidential candidate. I'm not all that into politics so this is the first time I've ever heard of something like this. This primary has been recently held in Florida. The two leading competitors were Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Results show that Romney as won in the Florida Polls.

He won 54 per cent of the Hispanic vote, brushing off attacks from Newt that he was the most "anti-immigrant" candidate in the race. He won 51 percent of women's votes compared to
Gingrich's 28. The largest population that
contributed to his votes were the rich, with
61 percent supporting him.

It has now been reported that he also won in the Nevada poll.
